Automotive Technology

Automotive Technology provides young men and women with an opportunity to turn their love of automobiles into a career offering exceptional pay, job security and room for advancement in the automotive field. For more information about automotive, e-mail at mckinnre@hsd401.org.

The Automotive Technology Program is an ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) nationally certified program, with students able to study in five different areas including:

  • Engine Performance
  • Breaks
  • Electrical/Electronic Systems
  • Suspension & Steering
  • Engine Repair

Mr. Mckinnon’s formal Education:

  • Technical Degree Lewis-Clark State College – 1968
  • Bachelor’s Degree University of Idaho – 1974

Mr. McKinnon’s work experience prior to PSSC:

  • 15 years experience working construction as a mechanic
  • 7 years experience working as a automotive service technician

Mr. McKinnon’s Philosophy:

  • Working with students is my passion
  • Automotive students need to further their education upon leaving PSSC
  • Leadership, teamwork, & other soft skills are an important part of education
