Hello Pacific!

I am excited to start the year and to start a new experience for me as an administrator at Pacific. I know some of you from my 6 years at Mount Rainier High School.

Over the summer we have been building a new Mentoring Program to help support students who need that extra help to see themselves as students with the option of college in their futures. This will be an exciting program to get up and running. We are already on the Washington State Mentoring website and will be piloting some ideas this year.

As you know, each Friday (with the exception of a couple identified on your calendars) will be an early dismissal day. The purpose of these days is to provide professional development for staff so that we can stay up-to-date on the most current educational best practices and bring the best possible instruction to students. During this time there will be opportunities for students that will support them academically, socially, physically, and behaviorally. School dismissal on these days will be 1:10. The following opportunities will be provided after 1:10 for students:

I am looking forward to a great year. I am hoping that my high school experience, particularly my years at Mt. Rainier, will be an asset as we help students grow through middle school and prepare to transition into high school. The high school students are anxious to be positive role models and support their younger peers. We have a great opportunity to smooth the transition from elementary to middle school and middle to high school and beyond. What an exciting time for our students.

Thank you,

Heidi Geise
