Volunteer Information
At Highline Public Schools, we believe the education of children is a joint responsibility. Good communication and collaboration between our schools and parents, families, and the community are essential to improved student achievement.
At Pacific, we involve parents by:
• Holding parent-teacher conferences.
• Working with the PTSA. Volunteers are needed throughout the school day.
• Hosting Open House.
• Making available interpreters for parents of students who are not proficient in the English language. They are available for family events, conferences, and to translate many printed materials. Special nights have been created for parents to develop a sense of community and to discuss school issues of concern. We also have interpreters available for students who are hearing or sight impaired.
• Presenting school-wide instructional plans at the first PTSA meeting of the year and fall orientation for your information
and feedback.
• Sending home school-home compacts in the parent packet at the beginning of the school year. These compacts are agreements stating the responsibilities of the school, parents, and students to make school a successful experience for all students.
