Retired teacher, principal, administrator George Moll passed away on Thanksgiving Day. George started his career with the district in 1953 as a sixth-grade teacher at Chelsea Park Elementary. He also taught at Cedarhurst and Hilltop. He became the principal at Hilltop in 1958 and then principal at Boulevard Park in 1959. In 1965, he was named director of the special education department. From 1967 to 1975 he was the director of pupil personnel services, and then from 1974 until he retired in 1982, he was again the director of special education.

Glenn Totten passed away recently. Glenn was a district bus driver from 1965 until he retired January 1982.

 

Kenneth Pederson passed away on December 3 at the age of 73. Ken was hired as a fourth-grade teacher at North Hill Elementary in 1955. In 1962 he took a two-year leave of absence for graduate school and returned to teach at Madrona Elementary. Ken was a special education coordinator in 1972 and added coordinator elementary education/special education in 1979. Ken became principal of Salmon Creek in 1982 and moved to Gregory Heights in the 1987-88 school year. He moved to Riverton Heights in 1989 and retired from there in 1996.

 

Our Highline Family lost a local hero late last month. Former Highline Superintendent Carl Jensen passed away November 21 at the age of 97. Mr. Jensen was superintendent for 18 years, from 1953 to 1971. Click here to read more….
