Robert Guenther, science teacher and long-time
cross country/track coach at Tyee High School has died of
cancer. He has been the only cross country/track coach
Tyee has had since it opened and this is the first school
year he was not present for those sports. He is beloved by
staff he worked with and by students who became his
“children.” A memorial is being planned by friends.
