My goal is to have a good education, so I can be a music
teacher. I want to do good, do well in school so I could
have a good job in the future. Also so I can make my
parents proud. By having a good education I can make a big
difference in the community. In Parkside Elementary
school, I am the class Representative in the 5th grade. I
wanted to run as a representative so I can make a
difference in my class and my school. I know that if I
start now I can build myself up to helping out not only my
family, my Samoan Church and especially my community. I
see music as away to escape from the hardships in life. I
view music as a way for people to express their emotions
in away that they see fit. Music soothes the rock hard
souls of the world and it is a language of peace.
The steps I will take to reach my goal will be to do well
in school. By doing that, getting good grades, and doing
what I am supposed to do in school, to learn. I have to
use these steps to achieve my goals. I have this music
teacher that always tells me that, "try your best and you
are the best". Her name is Mrs. Schade. To me it means
that if I give it my best and I do not hold back, whatever
the outcome I know that I will be the best. After
elementary school, I know that I have to graduate high
school and move onto college. This will give me an edge in
knowledge, and opportunity. I wanted to join the United
States Marine Corps like my dad so I can have the
experience in not only serving my country but especially
to make my family proud. I am in the choir for my church
(First Samoan Congregational Church); I see church as a
way to help me in spiritual wisdom. What this means is, it
will build love in my heart and to lead with compassion. I
want people to know that I care and I want to help in any
way possible.
What I want to do for my community; I want to show kids
there is tons of music besides rap. Also I want to show
kids if they're in a situation they can come to me and
sing. Why? Because this is an outlet for their souls to be
free. To me, this will allow them to get their minds out
of their troubles and do something fun or even some humor
in music. Just use their emotions in there voice. I want
to say to my students, come to me when ever they need
help. What I hope is for my students to say, my teacher is
my inspiration. That is my biggest goal, to make a
difference. I want to be an inspiration to all kids and
all ages in all places. My community can see that there is
peace and harmony in music. No matter what voice you have,
good or medium or even bad, that is your voice from God
and that is all that you have. I want my community to know
that with this confidence we can break down these barriers
and build a better community and even a better world!
