Student Leadership Team (4th, 5th, 6th Grades)
Meeting times: Mondays 12:30 – 1:15. SLT members should get their lunches, paper and pencils at 12:25 and be in room 245 at 12:30. We will finish our meetings in time to dismiss students back to class at 1:15. We will plan to meet about two Mondays a month, but may need more frequent meetings when large projects are underway.
We will meet on Mondays, with our first meeting scheduled for Monday, Oct. 22, 12:30 in Mrs. Johnston’s room, Room 245.
There are four main areas of focus for SLT projects this year:
- Community service projects such as canned food drive, recycling, and/or fundraising for identified projects
- Promotion of school spirit (T-shirt design brought to SLT by Mrs. Loy last year, special school spirit days, Talent Show, or other special all school events)
- Student Accountability/Leadership in making Gregory Heights’ learning climate positive for every student (addressing concerns raised by other students about teasing, exclusion, lunchroom, playground or other behavior concerns)
- Communicating information from SLT with students in younger classrooms (by invitation of primary classroom teachers.)
