Conversion to Online Student Information System Nears Completion

The electronic student information system (eSIS) funded by the 2006 bond is nearly fully operational. Conversion from the outdated system has been a massive undertaking. Now all schools are operating on eSIS for attendance, emergency contact information, and most other student data.

Aviation High School is now piloting the eSIS parent portal, which allows parents to view student progress reports, attendance, test scores, discipline, and emergency contacts for their children. The parent portal also allows parents to exchange messages with their children’s teachers. Online access to grades is in the works.

The parent portal, including access to grades, will be available to all schools by the end of this school year.

The district has also converted to a central data warehouse funded by the bond. The Edvantage system holds a broad range of information from fiscal to student achievement data, allowing the district to link and analyze data from multiple areas.
