Big Picture Student Featured in Northwest Gold Coast Business Forum

Wesley Redding and Colby KleinWesley Redding, a freshman at Highline Big Picture High School, was recently featured in Northwest Gold Coast Business Forum with a story about his internship at Cascade e-Commerce Solutions, Inc. (CeSI).  Wesley is the second Big Picture student to intern with CeSI.  He joins senior Colby Klein

Internship Program Director Dan Posel said, "Colby is in his fourth year interning at CeSI. By the end of his first year, he was adding so much value to the company that he became a paid intern and clients were specifically requesting to work with him."  Posel went on to say, "In addition to gaining technical skills, CeSI owner Elizabeth Paulsen has provided a collaborative environment where Colby has developed his business and social skills as well."

Big Picture Principal Jeff Petty added, "Colby's graphic-rendering skills opened new opportunities for CeSI as a business."  He added, "In longitudinal studies of graduates of Big Picture schools around the country, graduates in college cite their internships by a 3:1 margin as the part of their high school experience that best prepared them to succeed in college. The top three colleges on Colby's current interest list are UW, Cal Tech, and MIT."

Paulsen has been very pleased with the internship program at Big Picture.  She notes, "Colby has advanced with our company and is now helping mentor and train Wesley."  Among their various assignments, both students work on projects CeSI does for Highline Public Schools including eHighlights.

Colby recently represented CeSI at the Big Picture Internship Networking Fair where he connected with staff from Microsoft's internship program.
