Minutes of Special School Board Meeting
March 11, 2005
CALL TO ORDER
President Slattery called the meeting to order at 6:10 p.m. in
Boardroom of the Educational Resource and Administrative Center.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Hazel Valley teacher Kasey Jones led the flag salute.

Selection
of the Next Superintendent of Schools
Matt Pina moved the board consider the selection of
the next superintendent for the Highline School District, seconded by Phyllis
Byers.
The
motion was approved unanimously.
Steve Denmark nominated Deputy Superintendent John Welch
for the next superintendent of the Highline School District, Phyllis Byers
seconded the nomination.
The motion was approved unanimously by individual
roll call vote.
Phyllis Byers moved to authorize contract
negotiations with John Welch to be the next superintendent of the Highline
School District, seconded by Steve Denmark.
The motion was approved unanimously.
Superintendent-elect
John Welch stated he considered it an honor to be selected to serve as the next
superintendent for the Highline School District.
ADJOURNMENT
Matt Pina moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Steve Denmark.
Tom Slattery adjourned the meeting at 6:25 p.m.
