On October 24 a memorial service was held for retired teacher and coach
Merle Duncan, who passed away of a heart attack. Merle was hired in 1961 at Sunset Junior High teaching social studies, math, and PE. Throughout his 28 years with our district, he also taught and coached at Glendale, Mount Rainier, and
Tyee.
Retired teacher
Allen Reamer passed away on October 23 at the age of 75. Al was hired in 1955 at Normandy Park, moved to Marvista in 1961, to Puget Sound in 1968, and then to Highline High School in 1976 to teach Language Arts/English. He retired in 1982. A memorial program is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 20, in the theatre at the Burien Community Center, 4th SW and SW 146th St.
