Juried Art Show
Normandy Park Senior Living Center

The art will be on display throughout the month of June.
New Start Youth Program will employ
40-45 youth, ages 14-18, to complete a community service/awareness
project for five weeks. This project will be treated as a
temporary employment opportunity so that youth can receive job
training. Pay is hourly minimum wage of $7.63. Students will also
receive a 0.5 academic credit in Social Studies or an elective
course for their participation.

2nd Annual Jack Thompson Sports Camps in White Center
The Jack Thompson sports camps will take place on July 5, 6, and 7
for six to fourteen year olds and will include football, soccer,
tennis, and basketball. Professionals will teach workshops where
team ethics and leadership will be emphasized. The purpose of this
camp is not only to build athleticism in the youth of White
Center, but also to help them see a caring community that is there
for them and wants them to be active during the summer.

Paws, Claws, Scales,
and Tales!
Independent Summer Reading Program
Children – ages 3-12 years
June 15 – August 31
Kids register by visiting their local KCLS branch, or by going to
kcls.org. They will receive a tracking sheet to keep a tally of
the number of minutes they read. At the halfway point, they
receive a Pizza Hut coupon. When they finish, they receive a
backpack and other prizes! In addition all KCLS branches will have
various storytimes and performers for all ages throughout the
summer.
