“DISTRIBUTION SEMINAR”

 

ICMA-RC will be offering a Distribution Seminar for TRS and SRS Plan 3 Members of our district on April 4 at 5-6 p.m. at ERAC in the boardroom.

This seminar will cover choices and timelines that Plan 3 Members who leave service will face.

If you intend to retire or leave service within the next five years, you are encouraged to attend this seminar. Guests are welcome to attend.

“INVESTMENT EDUCATION SEMINAR”


 

ICMA-RC will be giving an Investment Education Seminar for TRS and SRS Plan 3 members in our district on April 4 at 6:30-8:00 p.m. at ERAC in the boardroom.

These seminars will cover the structure of Plan 3, the investments available in Plan 3, and retirement planning. The seminars are strictly educational in nature and contain only DRS approved information.

If you want clarification, updates, or other information about Plan 3, please plan on attending.

Kelly Larkin with Shelgren Financial Group Inc. will be here to answer your questions about financial and retirement planning. She has a comprehensive understanding about the unique types of investments offered to school district employees and how those investments work in conjunction with the state retirement plan. She will cover topics such as:

Understanding Mutual Funds

What is a bond, a stock, an annuity?

What is the best investment for me?

Explain the fees and who gets paid!

Project-Based Learning Forum
at Highline Public Schools’ ERAC on
TUESDAY, April 25, at 2:45 p.m. in the North Classroom.


Come and meet teachers from around Highline Public Schools
as well as representatives from organizations in our community
that might be possible project-based learning partnerships.

It will be a chance to hear what is going on regarding service learning, what happened at National & Global Youth Service Day, share ideas, get new resources,
and hear about needs in the community.

We hope you will attend.

“Our Hope, Our Home, Our Freedom”

KidSounds Northwest and YouthSounds Northwest present their spring concert "Our Hope, Our Home, Our Freedom" on Saturday, April 1 at 7:00 p.m. at the Highline Performing Arts Center. Free admission to students 17 and under, with $12 general admission and $9 senior admission tickets available at the door. Students will perform stirring spirituals, patriotic anthems, and cherished folk songs, directed by Paula Hawkins. Student Artists Honored by WSPTA

Washington State PTA will honor 119 student artists at their annual Reflections Recognition Ceremony, to be held on Saturday, April 1 at 1:00 p.m. at the Highline Performing Arts Center. Students from across the state will receive medals in recognition of their creative entries in the categories of visual arts, photography, literature, music, film/video, and dance. Highline Council PTSA has five award winners this year: Avery Gardner and Erick Andrews from Marvista PTSA, Marie Thoma from Sylvester PTSA, Thao Nguyen from Evergreen High PTSA, and Tyler Kimmel from Highline High PTSA. Selected students will be performing their work and all student's work will be on display in the lobby of the PAC for all to enjoy. The public is welcome to attend this free event and help us congratulate these talented students.
