Observation
- Before
an interview is scheduled, the prospective student and his/her parent(s)
should observe the CHOICE Academy classes during the school day.
- The observation gives both the
prospective student and parents a chance to see the class sizes, behavior of
current students and how the program works.
- If both parent(s) and student
feel the program would meet their needs, an intake interview will be
scheduled.
Intake Interview
- During
the intake interview, CHOICE teachers, the student and parent(s) meet to
discuss the nature of the program and the student's background and educational needs.
- The specifics of the program are clearly articulated as
well as expectations concerning behavior, attitude, academic success, parent
involvement, etc.
- Upon careful review of all information, a determination whether the Academy can effectively meet the
educational needs of the prospective student will be made.
Application Packet
- If the prospective student is accepted into the Academy, an
application packet containing all of the necessary forms and information for
the new student and parent(s) will be made available.
- All documents must be completed, signed and submitted before the prospective
student can begin classes.
- Included in the packet are a dress code form, a
student/parent contract outlining the requirements and responsibilities,
